About Vinay

I am Vinay Iyer, a professional cricketer, proud member of the Japan National Team, and the Head Coach of the Japan U16 National Team.

Cricket has been my passion, leading me to establish the Kawasaki Knight Riders Cricket Club (KKR) in Japan. Our club encompasses men’s, women’s, and youth teams (U12, U15, and U19). In addition to coaching both the children’s and women’s teams, I organize cricket camps and various coaching programs, particularly for children under 12 and girls under 19.

I have been passionate about cricket since childhood, with the dream of representing my country. While I did not have the opportunity in my homeland, I realized this dream in Japan when I was selected for the national team in 2022. My dedication to playing cricket at the highest level continually motivates me to develop and excel in this sport.

In my two years of coaching in Japan, I have noticed that cricket is still an emerging sport. Many children initially lack interest, likely due to growing up in a different cultural environment compared to countries like India, where cricket is a daily activity. I aspire for the students of Disha International School to excel in all sports. With my expertise in cricket, I am committed to mentoring and guiding them, helping them cultivate a passion for the sport and advancing their skills to new heights.
