Beyond The Classrooms
Singing
The Singing program is designed for elementary school students who have a passion for singing. In a fun and interactive environment, students will learn about their speaking and singing voices, work on pitch matching with melodies, and blend and follow a conductor’s lead.
It is well-known that music plays a crucial role in the development of a growing brain – research has shown that children who are exposed to a structured program of musical study tend to perform better in school and on tests than those who do not. The skills developed through musical training such as spatial-temporal skills, are essential for success in a variety of 21st century occupations such as architecture, engineering, math, art, gaming, and computer-related fields.
Furthermore, studying music can also accelerate language development. Studies have shown that musical training can physically develop the left side of the brain, which is responsible for processing language, and can even rewire the brain’s circuits in specific ways.
